In April 1986 television journalist, John McCarthy, was kidnapped in Beirut and held for 5 years. For his fiance, Jill Morrell, John's captivity was a different kind of hell as she worked ceaselessly on behalf of all the British hostages in the Middle East, until the extraordinary day in 1991 when John stepped down from an aeroplane at RAF Lyneham.
